Expletives depleted: When children are in the car, euphemisms become the order of the day. Even the prissiest driver, when faced with the monumental stupidity of others on the road, will tend to weigh in with a range of well-chosen expletives. I'm sure there's a formula that measures the typical level of depravity expressed in ordinary conversation and develops a consistent co-efficient between that value and the worst thing we might say on the road.

I got my father in trouble when I was 3 or 4. We were driving with my grandfather, who disapproved of swearing around children. Someone cut us off, and my father bit his tongue. I unfortunately piped up "Sondabitch, Daddy, right?"
