No Snickering: That Road Sign Means Something Else. How would you like to live on "Butt Hole Road"? Oh, that's not the worst of them, either.

Of that article in the NY Times is just wonderful. I'm guessing the folks from Intercourse, Pennsylvania can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that there are worse place names in the world.

Ah! I didn't realize there was an Intercourse, Pennsylvania. I knew there was one in Alabama.

Then there was Beaver College in Pennsylvania, which changed its name a few years ago to Arcadia University. And I used to have a T-shirt from a business school in Ohio called Dyke College, which eventually changed its name to Chancellor University.

Whenever I go to Zion National Park, I always pass through a small town called Virgin.  In Virgin, Utah there is a petting zoo and it's sign says "Virgin Petting Zoo".  I've always snickered at this and wondered about the creators of the sign.
