Diegogarcity
My wife and I enjoy the show. We're almost caught up with the summer podcasts. And on a recent trip from San Diego to L.A. and back, we listened to the first show for the new season. Congratulations on a fine show!
My comment is about diegogarcity, which I believe was a proposed word in one of the summer podcasts. Directly after listening to that podcast, we found ourselves with some free time and went to Old Town, San Diego. In a matter of just a couple of hours, we were confronted with "Diego Garcia" in an Old Town Bookstore! Neither of us had ever heard of Diego Garcia before that.
Just last week, I had mentioned Diego Garcia to my wife in regards to another "diego garcia-ish" moment. Later that day, while reading another book, I came upon "Diego Garcia" in a footnote!
I'm convinced that "diegogarcity" is a true phenomenon, worthy of its name. In fact, in this age of neuroscience and genomics, it may even have become genetically encoded.
Whenever and wherever I can now, such as at a barbecue restaurant in San Diego that supplies butcher paper for table clothes and crayons for the wait, we write "Diego Garcia" next to all of our silly stick figures.
Woot!

Wow, Vinnie, that's pretty impressive to run into all those Diego Garcias. How'd you manage to see it in Old Town? Was it the island or someone by that name?
Thanks for helping to popularize the word. It'd sure be nice to have something commonly used for this common phenomenon.
