British yoghurt producers now tend to use the H-less "yogurt." Blame America?

Is yoghurt becoming less cultured than yogurt? "Almost unnoticed, manufacturers and retailers have been moving to the alternative, Americanised spelling of yogurt over the past 15 years, to the annoyance of traditionalists."

The article says that "historically the British have strongly objected to the Americanisation of the language but that attitudes were softening." Is that what is meant by "traditionalists"? If that is the case, then I would expect most people in most countries to be traditionalists.
